How can you clean an old frig of the spotty black mold/mildew that they get from being closed and moist?

It's only happened to me once, but I used a pretty heavily concentrated bleach & water solution, let it dry with the doors open, then washed it out with wet rags & dried again.

First thing you do is see if you can find a replacement rubber surround. Take the old one off and discard - in the restaurant business we would have to do this once every year or two.

2nd... use some PBW, hot water, and a good rag [after unplugging it and letting it come up to temperature].

3rd... let it dry and use some star-san.

Don't forget to clean the fan assembly, drip pan, and the cobwebs from around the compressor.
