Painting the bottom of the kettle/pot black?

I was thinking, if shiny=reflected heat, would painting the bottom of the pot black with high temp bbq paint and then putting tinfoil or something below the propane burner help aid effeciency and get things hotter for less propane?
 
There is an in depth thread on this very topic from a few years back where some experiments were conducted...

I can't find it though....IIRC either no paint really held up to the flame or that the benefits were inconclusive.

I think the op measure propane useage between the painted and unpainted kettle doing a boil to determine if it was more efficient.
 
Yeah I did a search first and I didn't find anything... can anyone else find it?
 
If the kettle is aluminum you could hard anodize it black. It a pretty simple procedure.
