Very simple question about white labs cider yeast. Comes in a tube, get it to room temp and shake till reconstructed. Opened it up, and boom! Fortunately, a majority of it ended up in my ale pale, but not all of it. Not a big deal right?

Living in the mountains, it's hard to not have a bit of a boom when you open one of the vials. Everything turns out fine, regardless. Next time you suspect a "boom", just wash your hands or wear gloves and make sure the package is sanitized. Works for me.

Whenever you open crack and allow to equalize before opening all the way.

I pitched it today at around 1pm it's about 9pm now....shouldn't it be bubbling by now? I'm use to 1 gallon batches with bread yeast, I suspect the volume here is going to take a little more time to get rolling.

When would you expect a 5 gallon batch with white labs to start really getting going?
