I am making a cherry porter. I added a can of the Oregon cherry puree to an empty secondary carboy and racked from my primary on top of the puree. It has come time to bottle and now I've been reading a lot about using fruit extract at bottling time. Considering that the beer has been sitting on the cherry puree for 3 weeks, do I still need to add the fruit extract? Pros/Cons of doing so?

Take a small sample and test it. If u like the cherry flavor leave it. If u don't think it's enough add some extract until u reach ur desired taste.

Generally u would eithe use fruit purée or extract in a beer, not both

Sounds like sound logic to me - much appreciated!
