Loaded question I know. Really the question could be how big of a room can be reasonably cooled by a window A/C unit.

Here are some qualifiers:
  1. I am building a 12' X 20' brewery in my shop.
  2. Ferment room/chamber will be cooled by window A/C unit.
  3. I am not concerned about making lagers

Thanks in advance. Pictures are always welcome!

How big are your batches? Are you sure you want to cool them with ambient air if you brew 15 gallon batches or more?

Sorry guys, I don't have the unit yet. I am planning on whatever I can find on clist at the moment. Assume cheap and smallish. (There's a joke in there somewhere!)

Click the thread in my sig. You can make something like I did, which can be cooled by even the ****tiest AC unit, like mine. Fits 9+ carboys, so unless you are a brewing fanatic I think you'll be fine.
