Im a dope i was under the impression that smash was some malt and some hops, or just another term for a frankenbrew, been telling other brewers for months that most of my beers are smash brews only to get odd looks when i described what i used. Someone finally set me straight last week.

I got a question about flavor . Using only base malt does the beer come out with a malty flavor or mostly hoppy flavor ?

made my first smash beer recently, turned out great

firs time doing all grain and full boil with a 5 gallon pot on the stove top, was a pain to do

11.6 lbs 2 row and motueka

ounce(s) pellets
1 motueka first wort AA 8.6%
0.5 motueka 30 min AA 8.6%
1 motueka 15 min AA 8.6%
1 motueka 10 min AA 8.6%
1 motueka 5 min AA 8.6%
1 motueka 1 min AA 8.6%

1.25 motueka dry (5 days) AA 8.6%
1.25 motueka dry (5 days) AA 8.6%

I got a question about the dry hop . what is the purpose of 2 seperate dry hops ? Does this come out different than jsut putting 2.5 ounces in at once for 5 days ?
