How many 5 gal boils can I expect on a standard grill sized propane tank?

I'm using a bayou classic turkey fryer...

I have the SP10 and probably get 5-6 brews off the tank. A mix of 60 and 90 minute boils. I have a spare tank and make sure one is at least half full before starting.

I have two tanks as well, I recommend you do the same just so you don't run out on brew day. I shoot for 5.5g in the fermenter (around 7 preboil), my last tank I was able to brew 3 batches and grill some veggies and bbq chicken on the grill before it went out haha.

I'm using a old turkey fryer.

great, that answers another question too... How much to start with to end up at 5 gal.

Full tank = 40 lbs = 11 hours at full power (for my burner)
Empty tank = 18 lbs = no hours
Linear in between

An all grain brew session uses around 2 hours of propane.

Oh yeah. Ive got 3 tanks. Just curious how much id be using each time.

I get four to five boils (11g batches - 13.5g pre-boils / 75 - 90 minutes) with a tank...

I keep a few tanks spare in case and I also use electric for hot liquor and sparge water...
