Drinking my first brew. Tastes kind of strange. Pretty well no alcohol content. Seeing as how I only used 2 quatrs of LME for 5 gallons...:( (lessons learned) Good carbonation and all that, But my biggest frown is the CHILL HAZE... What causes this. What can a guy do to prevent it?

If you used two cans of LME, that should be about 6.6 lbs, giving you around a 4.5% alcohol beer depending on the type of extract, type of yeast, and the rest of the recipe.

Chill haze is caused by proteins coming out of solution when the beer is cold. The easiest way to prevent chill haze is by using Irish moss or Whirlfloc tablets during the last 5-15 minutes of the boil.

How Cold?? Like 40* or lower??

I also used the irish moss on my last brew on Saturday. It was the seaweed form.
