Great looking bar! How many taps are you having in there?

I have, for now, a small older kegerator, that holds two, and if you try real hard, three 5g cornies. I usually have two home brews on tap at all times.
I also have a beer fridge that has plenty BMC's, several domestic craft beers, and a nice selection of Belgians.

I'm also having a stainless hood built that will house the vent and filters above the stove/grill area. It will be sucked out(and replaced by fresh air) by a commercial vent motor. This whold assymbly will mount under the cypress framework above the stove.
Can't have my new cookshack gettin all greasy and smokey inside.

You bet!
We're in south louisiana, between the heat, the humidity, and the mosqitos, ya gotta have it.
Heat and AC are in the attic above the kitchen, and the vents blow out over the room, and back to the return air in the ceiling of the kitchen.

I figured with how top notch the build was that you would be running central a/c, but did not look that closely at the pics.

I lived in central FL for 20 years in central FL and know the issues you talk about too well, and why I felt the need to ask!

:mug:

Fridge and freezer installed.
Aready has ice in the ice maker bin!

Silly boys, that's the kitchen fridge and freezer. :)
The Belgians go in the bar cooler. Pics later.

you should watch craigslist for a cheapo POS (point of sale, get your mind out of the gutter) system to put there, mainly for looks, and to just screw with people...

"Ok, one Stout... that will cost you 5 bucks, do you want me to close your tab or leave it open?"

That actually sounds like fun. All my friends and family know I would never charge them, but will be fun anyway.

A couple of leather couches for when you want to relax.
Cheap, thanks to my sister redecorating her living room.

That WOULD look awesome on the bar!
Too many other things to buy right now, but later I will keep my eye open for one.

Please do not take offense to this, but for the amount of work and craftsmanship you put in this, please stop using cell phone pics. That has to be the single greatest builds I have ever seen. Your back yard is as cool as any resort I have seen, just on a more personal scale.

Oh, by the way, we decided to call it the Cypress Tiger Tavern.
The first time my brother in law saw the bar, he said, wow, it looks like a cypress tiger.
Instant name! After months of trying to decide what to call it.

I just finished reading through every post, took me over an hour. I feel like Im living through you. This is the best thing I've ever seen. I now look at my back yard and think there is so much I want to do. Congratulations and enjoy! I subscribed and looking forward to things to come.

right up till this post, I was really enjoying this thread... well, maybe you would consider renting the place out for a Vikings/Jets Superbowl party!!!

Go Vikes!

P.S. the place is looking great.... more pics!

The jets and Vikings can come here and watch the saints beat the colts in the superbowl!

I've been following this thread for a while and didn't realize you were from Louisiana until I saw the pot of Jambalaya. I'm from New Orleans and recently lived in Baton Rouge, but in Cali now. :( Geaux Saints!

OMG! I've been reading these forums for a couple months, and only ever looked at the first page of this thread until now. I had no freaking idea this had progressed so beautifully.

A quote from the movie Fight Club comes to mind: (altered to fit the occasion)

"We used to read pornography. Now it was the Layne Backyard Brewpub Thread."

This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. So I've only got 19 more years to convince my wife to let me do this for our 25th. Wish me luck.

Layne, before it's all said and done I'm afraid your 'Aints are going to wish they had been playing the Jets or the Vikings in the Super Bowl instead of "Manning's Marauders"... "Archie's boy" is gonna get it done!
Go Colts...

I'll admit, I'd rather be playing anybody than Peyton.
BUT, these are the miracle Saints. This is our year!

The 200 feet long and 36 inch deep trench for the electric lines.
We decided to put a separate service for the CTT, instead of trying to get that much draw from the house panel.

Installed these brackets today. They will add stability to the bar top. The girls will appreciate the 'purse hangers'
