Does isinglass expire? If so when? Also, when adding it to a lager, should I add it cold in the fridge or let it warm up to room temp first?

I had the same question... my LHBS sells it in liquid form (I'm under the impression that it can be sold as a powder, to be hydrated when needed). I'd used half the pack on a small batch, and put it under refrigeration to be used in a week on another small batch- only to find at racking time, that it'd been removed from the refrigerator for better than half of the week. Now I'm afraid to use it. Its appearance hasn't changed, and I didn't bother to smell it when I knew it was fresh (but it sure smells funky now, kinda sharp like ammonia)... I'll scour the forums and see if I can dig up any more info...
