CRAP ......

I thought I had some chocolate malt left in stock, but NONE TO BE FOUND !!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:(

I only need 2 oz for my batch. Since chocolate is ~350*, and I have some malted english roasted barley - 625*L, can I use like, one ounce of that to make up for the missing chocolate ???

BTW, I am brewing a Westy 12 clone.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a reasonable substitution as far as color, but the roasted flavor won't be quite as smooth. If I were you, I'd go for it. Just realize that the flavor won't be exactly what you expect from a clone recipe.

well, as it turns out, I had to go get more spring water. There is a free flowing spring not far from my house, and since I had to go out, Midwest supply is open on Sunday.

YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I swung by there first and got a pound of chocolate, then went and got my water.

All my problems were solved. Just got a little later start time, that's all.
