So because my local beer store only got a case of Yakima Twilight, and I only got a sixer, I've decided to make a clone recipe based on what the informationally frugal guys at Victory told us. This is just a shot in the dark and I won't be able to try it next to the real thing so basically I'm making a dark IPA based in the YT ingredients.

This is for 3 gallons(test batch amount)

4.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 52.08 %
1.00 lb Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 13.02 %
1.00 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 13.02 %
0.75 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt40L (40.0 SRM) Grain 9.77 %
0.50 lb White Wheat Malt (2.4 SRM) Grain 6.51 %
0.25 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt80L (80.0 SRM) Grain 3.26 %
2.00 oz Dehusked carafa II (412.0 SRM) Grain 2.34 %

0.50 oz Columbus (Tomahawk) [14.00 %] (60 min) Hops 37.8 IBU
0.50 oz Simcoe [13.00 %] (15 min) Hops 17.4 IBU
1.00 oz Amarillo Gold [8.50 %] (5 min) Hops 9.2 IBU
1.00 oz Amarillo Gold [8.50 %] (Dry Hop 3 days) Hops -

1 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-) Yeast-Ale

I'm going to mash at 152 for 60min.

ferment with nottingham at 65

Est Original Gravity: 1.065 SG
Est Final Gravity: 1.015 SG
based on 70% efficiency because I haven't used my new 3 gal mash tun yet. If I go up then I go up
It won't be 8.7% ABV but my little MLT wont hold enough grain to pull that off. Should be around 6.5% good for an IPA.
Thanks for any and all comments.

I just kegged it yesterday, so I have week or so till I try it cold and carbed. Thesample I tried transfering it to secondary was great. It hadn't been dry hopped yet bit I thought it was really good. My beer store picked up a couple cases this week and I grabbed a 12 pack. It's roastier than I remember but that's likely due to the hop flavor fading over the last few months.
I'll report back in a week, thanks for asking.

Oh and I used wlp 007 dry English ale yeast instead of the notty

The only time I've had Yakima Twilight, I thought it was a little too roasty, so if yours is less so, then I think it's likely a good thing. Please fill me in with the final results. I'm making my own extract all-centennial black ipa and shooting for something a little smoother; however, I couldn't get carafa, so I'm trying English Roasted Barley. It should be interesting.

It turned out great. After the Columbus settled down a bit, the malts came through to balance the hops. It was still a hop bomb, just not like a normal IPA. It wasn't as roasty as Yakima Twilight which I preferred. After aging in the keg for a few weeks everything came together and my wife and I killed the keg in 2 weeks. I wouldn't change anything. Thanks for asking.
