I was modifying my keezer and putting my faucets back in. I thought that I was tightening the faucet with my faucet wrench in the slotted thing on the faucet and beer came gushing out. I can only guess that this is a reverse thread(?) I looked around for info on this but couldn't find any. So my assumption is that this coupling(?) should be tightenered all the way counter clockwise.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Well, it's not really reversed thread, it is just that your turning the nut on the shank and not the faucet. From the shanks point of view you want to turn the nut clockwise which from your point of view, standing in front of the faucet, appears counter-clockwise. It is still right hand thread.

Simple answer, yes tighten it all the way counter-clockwise.
