Well, I just had picked up a new banjo outdoor burner to boil my batches. I started making the NB Biere de garde in my 20 qt pot and when I went to add the last 4 lbs of DME, it boiled over like crazy. It probably doubled in volume, all over my deck and all over my brand spankin' new burner. Some of the wort went down into the burner venturi tubes so not all of the flames were burning after the boil was finished. I used an outdoor grill, stiff wire brush to get most of the burnt on wort off, but has anyone ever tried using their oven's cleaning cycle to clean the burner? I'm thinking about disassembling the burner, sticking it in the oven and setting it on clean. Has anyone ever tried that and did it work?
