I am finally getting to the AHB Fat-Tire Clone Mini-mash kit I got in a couple of weeks ago.

Going to brew tonight 3/2 and have a few during the process I will be having Full Sail IPA (I am still waiting for my ESB to bottle condition, that's why I am going commercial).

What is everybody else brewing/bottling/drinking?

I think I'm going to visit a newer HBS not far from me and I'm going to attempt my 1st all grain either this weekend or next. I'll probably go with a simple brown ale - like the one Palmer suggests in his book

Hopefully I'll brew my Midlife Crisis Pils this weekend. I might even go for broke and do another batch too if my Chaos Love Magnet is ready to rack.

I've got 2 batches planned this weekend. Another batch of Hopocalypse Now Double IPA and a Blackberry Sage Porter.

Tonight I'm brewing my second test batch of fruited Saison. I may brew a full batch of something on Sunday, but I haven't anything planned for sure.

Oktoberfest for me! Won't crack it until our annual party - if I can really wait 8 months. This will be my first true Oktoberfest lager, instead of the typical Oktoberfest ale. I'm going to try bittering with my small crop of homegrown hops (1st year plants).

No brewing here, but I have to bottle my first AG and transfer my second (Walker's IPA - can't wait to try it) to secondary.

You going to Fox Valley Brewing?

I'm brewing something new tomorrow - a Wild Rice Lager.

Woohoo!

Oh yeah, I might do one of these too. SCORED A BUNCH OF GRAIN! ;)

Let me know how this is. I am brewing something similar this weekend if all goes well...

We're brewing my Independence IPA tomorrow since we have plans on Sunday.

Recipe is as follows :
2 pounds extra light DME
6.6 pounds pale LME
2 pounds Crystal Malt 20L
1 pound Munich Malt 10L
2 ounces Summit hops (60 mins)
1.5 ounces Simcoe hops (45 mins)
1.5 ounces Centennial hops (30 mins)
1.5 ounces Cascade hops (2 mins)
1 ounce Cascade (dry hopped 14 days)
1 ounce Centennial (dry hopped 10 days)
Pacman yeast
Estimated O.G. 1.068
Estimated F.G. 1.017
Estimated ABV 6.6 %
IBU 95.0
SRM 12.3

Kicking around the idea of doing the Centennial 30 minute add a little at a time over the final 30 mins. :rockin:

It's All Grain Kolsch Time at my house this weekend.

6.5 # Pils
2.5 # Wheat
1 oz. Perle 60 min.
1/2 oz. Spalt 45 min.
1/2 oz. Spalt 5 min.

WL 029 German Kolsch Yeast.

Whoooo Yeahhh

A Pete's Wicked Ale clone tomorrow. I'm not too excited about it but it's for a party in April and I figured this was a good brew for the common folk.

Ya, I need to go to a b-day party for my nephew near there and figured I'd check it out

Uh, let's see...I'm currently scheming on a hefe, because I'm almost out of my previous one.

Ditto for me, will go more wheat DME this time, may steep some grains to keep it from being all-extract, first brew didn't quite have the flavor I was after.

Also considering doing a batch tomorrow - got an Irish pub draught ale kit from Northern Brewer along with some extra 1 lb bags of specialty grains, just to have some stuff to tinker with. If anyone has tried this NB kit please let me know if I should leave it alone or ok to tinker.

not brewing anything this weekend. but i have been busy:

fermenting:
spring ale
alt
kolsch
brutal bitters

on tap:
kolsch
esb
pale ale
ipa
imperial ipa

I'm brewing my third batch ever, and my first mini-mash. I'm using Ed Wort's Haus Ale recipe, with a minor substitution for to make it a partial mash instead of all grain.

I'm excited!

AHS FatTire, just like the OP. I'm also enjoying a wheat that's been in the bottle for a couple weeks, it's getting very good!

Before Is tarted brewing I always disliked flat and warm beer.. now I'm like pavlov's dog, I start to salivate when I get a whiff of wort boiling or a swig of flat/warm beer... I know what's coming! lol :p

My FatTire isn't doing so well at the moment though, I'm watching it like a hawk infact. It's blowing out and it ain't pretty. :-(

The Pete's Wicked clone is done and I had no AG problems!!!! :ban:

I actually ended up with too much wort, I dumped about 1/2 a gallon. Is that what most people do with leftover wort? I don't have a growler or anything like that for a mini-batch.

It wouldn't fit in your fermenter?? I always just let it ride...

I didn't even think about freezing it.

It wouldn't all fit, I already had about 5 1/2 gal in there and it flowing so I cut it off.

Freezing it is pretty cool...you can use it for starters like the_bird said, or you can even kraeusen with it (prime your beer with wort instead of dme or corn sugar)...The Kaiser wrote a primer on it somewhere around here.

Brewing steam beer from a BB kit-tonight  after the eclipse- but using Saflager S-23 (instead
of the Nottingham in the box).
