Hi there...so this is a first for me...I pushed a bit too hard on the bung while shaking my carboy to aerate the wort and wouldn't you know? The damn thing fell in. It was sanitized so I'm not really too worried about an infection (though if you have a different opinion I'd like to hear it!). My main concern is will this have an effect on flavor? I'm just thinking a chunk of rubber sitting at the bottom of the carboy for a week or two might impart some off flavors. Or not...?

When you are ready to clean it, use a coat hanger shaped like a large hook!

Ummm.......I read about it, yeah thats it.

Thanks everyone! I thought I'd be Ok (getting better at the RDWHAHB philosophy) but figured I'd ask the wonderful citizens of Homebrewtalk.com just to be extra sure...
