I want to start planning my 09/09/09 beer and I thought the banana produced by the bavarian hefeweizen yeast strains might go well with the grapefruit flavors produced by certain hops. I'm very new at writing recipes and would love the input for this seemingly ridiculous idea. Banana and hops??? Could this work??

I don't think that it's a taste that I would enjoy, personally. Banana and bitterness/citrus doesn't sound horribly appealing to me.

Experimentation is one of the great parts of homebrewing though. If it sounds good to you, give it a shot. Worst case scenario, you still end up with beer. :mug:
