Just thought I'd phrase that title like a noob.

Q. Anyone know the temperature rating on the red high temp o-rings? I have a use that will cause it to come in direct contact with a heating element. The low density element will be performing at about 1100 or so watts and the o-ring will be surrounded by wort.

From Mcmaster:

Type O-Ring
Cross Section Shape Round
Material Silicone
Silicone Type Standard
Durometer Hard
Durometer Shore Shore A: 70
Lowest Temperature Range -100° to -50°F
Highest Temperature Range +401°F to +500°F
Color Red-Orange

It's difficult to know how hot that element will get while in contact with wort. I suppose not much higher than 250F.

Thanks Bobby,
I'm pretty sure things should be ok. I'll run a test with standard water first and then pull the element to check.
