My Kegerator Rehab Project - Time Lapse

Ive created a video of my kegerator rehab. I had an old refrigerator with a tap on the front door that has become a little beat up over the years. After becoming increasingly frustrated with the bottling process, i decided it was time to make the garage frig into what it was born to be: a kegerator. below is a link to the entire process - start to finish.

Here are the list of costs i incurred during the project. It was quite expensive, but most of the parts can be moved from kegerator to kegerator for a next project should this refrigerator ever die.

The side with the taps is a piece of MDF with a black wooden frame. the paint of the MDF is chalkboard paint, so that i can write on it whatever is on tap.

The entire fridge was painted with Rustoleum Appliance Apoxy. its about $5 a can and required 6 cans to do the entire fridge. The chalkboard paint is was about $14 for a quart and i used so little that i could probably return it and they wouldn't even know (except i spilled paint all over the outside).

The biggest pain was trying to get the rubber gasket back on the refrigerator. I spent so much time trying to mess with this and still could not get it go back on the way it was meant to. I wound up using outdoor rated double-sided tape for the gasket. If i were to do this again, i would not remove that and would just paint the door with it on. By using the double sided tape, some areas of the frig do not seal all the way, so i had to add door locks to pull the doors a little tighter to keep the air in.
