Do I really need to get a vacuum sealer to store my hops? I just got a great deal at hopsdirect and picked up 1# of willamette and 1# of cascade for like $15. Would it be ok to just store these in a mason jars in the freezer? Vacuum sealers seem to run b/t $50-100...pretty expensive.

This will do the trick. You'll need to double-bag though to prevent the hop dust from ruining the seal on the bags.

i was thinking about just putting 1oz into ziplick snack bags and then putting them all in a mason jar. 16 bags per jar, 2 jars. oh yeah, these are pellet hops.

my recipes will definately focus on these hops over the next few months. looking forward to doing single hop pale ale experiment to compare.

Stored at 30F

Air tight jar or bag (not vacuum)

You will lose about 15% of the AA in 12 months

Not bad
