Is ABA a BarleyWine? Such a high ABV...but not quite as high as some other BW's.

Are 'American Stong Ale' and 'Barleywine' one and the same or no?

Barleywine is a subcategory of the Strong Ale category per BJCP. Therefore, a Barleywine is always a Strong Ale but Strong Ale is not necessarily a Barleywine.

Hope that helps.

Arrogant Bastard
The name says it all.
The hops, they are big
But the malt, it is small!

It's a beer that you drink
When you can't get a date
And nobody cares
That you stumble home late!
