I'm about to brew my first batch (Irish Stout, courtesy of the Midwest Groupon 
) and was looking into making a mini fermenter (something like this) to reduce the number of samples I need to take. Comments are closed on that post and I'm not sure exactly how to proceed with gravity readings using the mini fermenter. Can I just pop my sanitized hydrometer in the bottle and take a reading?
