My wife and I made a rice dish over the weekend using jasmine rice...my god that stuff has an amazing flavor. Kind of nutty, buttery, floral maybe.

Has anyone ever brewed with it? I would love to get some of that flavor in a beverage but don't know if it's just too subtle and delicate to withstand the brewing process.

I haven't brewed with it, but had a jasmine beer at the Booneville fest about 8-9 years ago. The brewer said he 'dry hopped' with the jasmine. The base beer was a lightly-hopped Pale.

There were a couple of women that would have sprawled under the tap to catch the drips, if they had been allowed to.

Never brewed with it either but agree on the great flavor. It's my favorite.

David was it a Jasmine rice beer or a Jasmine (flower) beer? I have a plant in my back yard and love the smell of the flowers. Never really consdidered it for beer though.
