So i looked in the recipes section and flipped through a few pages on this forum. I would like a good root beer recipe, from scratch. Anybody have any good ideas? Thanks for any help.

I've brewed this, and it's good...but takes too much time. It's a little different than modern root beer, but that's what I wanted.
The tough part for me was finding cherry bark and sassafras root bark.

That sounds great but i was looking for a more traditional root beer. Might try that anyway...

That is a traditional recipe. Just leave out the wintergreen and its an old fashioned root beer recipe. I forgot to mention that you'll need to add carmel color to your liking. The recipe comes out fairly light colored as is.
