I brewed a dopplebock clone using ale yeast about 5 months ago.
My wife had a baby ( six weeks preemie), and it has been in the secondary for close to 4 months .
is it worth bottling? It smells ok a little on the syrupy side and nothing is growing in it, Not sure if I should just scrao it and start over....
thanks
JB

Heck yes it's worth bottling! A lot of beers sit for that long or longer. In fact, it sound like just about the right amount of time for a dopplebock. Bottle that baby up and expect to drink a really good beer.

NEVER, and I'll repeat, NEVER just toss a beer without tasting it. Even if it tastes a little off, I'll still keg it and give it more time.

4 months is nothing for most styles. The best IPA I ever brewed, was left forgotten and alone, behind a chair, for 6 months in the secondary.

Give it a try!
