Hi all,

I'm going to brew the Saisoon Buffon from Radical Brewing today, and it calls for 1 lb of piloncillo (I was able to get turbinado). My question is when to add this? During the mash? Before boil? During boil? After boil?

Thanks!
Wade

Boil it down into a syrup with a bit of water, cool down, and pitch at high krausen (after you pitch the yeast and the foam builds up in the primary). It will kick start the yeast into high gear.

I went with @onthekeg's suggestion (as it was the only response when it was time to decide) but next time I'll give @bobbrews's suggestion a try - I like the sound of it. Thank you both!
