I used the scale recipe function in beersmith for the first time. I was scaling then converting a 4 gallon all grain recipe to a 10gal full boil extract. Most of it seemed reasonable except for the 60L. Any reason why the 60L (which is only steeped like all the other grains), isn't proportionally increased to the 10gallon like everything else? Plan on brewing tomorrow so trying to clear this up.

Anyone up early have any insight on this? Should I just go with the Beersmith scale up, or scale it up by hand? I don't know too much (if anything) about formulating recipes so any help is appreciated as I'm gathering my ingredients now.

Adding up the percentages in your grain bill, it looks like you are .01% short on the 10-gallon scaled batch. In other words, adding all the percentages in the 4 gallon batch equalled 100%. All the ingredients in the 10 gallon batch equalled 99.9%. I would say it's a rounding issue in the program. Either way, it's only .03% difference between the 2 batch sizes. I think you'll be fine either way.

Its because you converted to extract brew. Dry malt contains some crystal malts for color.
