how many lbs of grain in a gallon?

Don't have any grain here right now, but am looking for a rough estimate. Am looking at some storage containers that I hope will fit 2-3 sacks. Thanks....

I think when I did it with crushed grain it was about a pound per quart, so 4:1
 
18 gallons fits a 50# sack of barley with some room to spare, probably 10lbs of grain worth. So if I had to guess, I'd say 3 pounds / gallon.
 
Yeah I have a fair amount of headspace in my 18g container, it could probably fit another 20 pounds, but it's hard for me to visualize that.
