Sorry for the loss.

How was that beer? Saving mine for tomorrow.
Damn you fins. Had an apfelwein and fell asleep. Just woke up and had a taste of the blue moon attempt.

Thanks. Lot of my family is getting to that age sadly.

It's my favorite yeti variant. It's so rich and chocolaty. Need to age some. Wish some variants come in 4 packs

Stone Saison and a 14oz ribeye medium rare (eating the ribeye, not drinking it)

Arcadia Keeper Red @ Fire keepers casino. Just too the True Blood Slot for $100. So I'm gonna sit and drink waiting for the woman

What's the secret to getting Gandhi-bot? Can I expect to just walk in and ask for it or is there a special handshake and code word?

Not at all. It should be available. Almost always is down at the brewery.

Coff- rangers really blew that game last night...

i wanna do a brew this weekend- got the grain but not much hops on hand except for about a 1/2 lb each of nugget and fuggles i have had in the freezer for about 2 years. Can i make something with these? are they too old to use? i have about 12lbs of 2row and some carapils and munich... im thinking of mashing low and bittering with 1oz of nugget and whirlpooling with the rest of the nugget and fuggle for ***** and giggles. maybe save an oz of each to dry hop with

rant over

Coffee, planning my early departure from the office to go buy supplies for a brew tomorrow. I hope I get to do the brew...I am chomping at the bit to redeem myself after that SMaSH debacle. I'm also itching to test my mash pH with my new pH meter (which is probably the problem with my SMaSH).

I'm drinking water and planning out a brew day. Using beersmith and my bad efficiency, I typed in my desired OG and it told me that I need 9lbs 16oz of pale malt... :smack:

A cuppa joe and an everything bagel. If there is a better quick breakfast I do not know it.

Coffee (or tea) + everything bagel + lox and cream cheese. And you have yourself the perfect breakfast.

How does one say "suck it" en français québécois? :cross:

On the coff myself.

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Coffee.

I took a Wyeast pack of yeast dated 4/16/14 and made a 1.5l starter at 1.040. Had it on a stir plate for 28 hours straight. It's in the fridge now but not sure I left it long enough. Anyone know? I can take a pic of what looks like a fairly thin layer of yeast on the bottom. I can always decant and make another 1.040 1.5l starter, right?

Personally, I leave my starters on the stir plate for about 48 hours

So should I just decant, let the yeast come up to room temp, and make a new starter and dump it over that yeast cake?

Probably not a bad idea if you don't think you got any growth.

Although 28 hrs should be plenty of time for the yeast to rip through your starter wort. Is that a production date or expiration date? If exp, you'll need to step it up.

My favorite of the yeti series. RIP great aunt Nacy.

Cheers

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully she had a great life.

Wow...my condolences. Hope it's not a long flight!

Cross country, so 4.5 hours. Not too bad. Been on 12 and 14 hour flights before... Yech.

Decided to stop at the airport bar for a beer. Flight of stone tasters. Oaked Arrogant, Smoked Porter and Chipotle Smoked Porter.

Love San Diego.

Wyeast, as far as I know, that is the production date on the front. At least that is what the yahoos at my LHBS said last time I questioned it. (yahoos because I feel like they kind of can be at this new LHBS)

I guess I could decant and take a reading to see if the yeast even ate through anything. I mean, it was nice and warm (74F) and on the stir plate from 4 PM Thursday to 8 pm Friday.
Sounds good to me!

Nice...that flight will help your airplane flight! Just cross your fingers that the burrito doesn't come back to haunt you.
