For no sparge,

12 lbs 2row
6 oz wheat malt
1oz Sterling at 60
1oz Saaz at 30
1oz Saax at 5
90 minute boil
OG 1.045

I wrote Jamie at Full Sail and he gave me the recipe. use 8.5 to 9 gallons of water. 4.5 for Mash, and 4.5 of 170 degree water, add all water after conversion, stir, vorlauf, drain. About 7 gallons pre boil.

if you want to fly sparge, use 10 lbs grain, 4 oz wheat.

Feel free to add half to one pound flaked maize to mash.

ferment at 50 to 55, lager at 33 for four to five weeks.

What you end up with is a medium bodied, dry session lager.

Ferment with 2L starter of your favorite. I used 34/70 dry, or urquell, or helles lager yeast. All turned out great. If you fly sparge, keep sparging till you collect about 7 gallons of wort.

To anyone who has brewed this, did you find that the six oz. of wheat malt impacted clarity at all? I'm planning to make this recipe as my first lager, but if it won't be clear with the wheat, I may omit it.

Thanks in advance.
