That guess was meant to be nonsense :D I really have no idea... doesn't help that I'm extremely unfamiliar with a lot of west coast brews

I feel like I need to collaborate all the hints together... it might make some connections that aren't being made:

1) Appearance is misleading. Made with fruit
2) Not a Sam C. beer
3) Based on commerical brew widely available on West Coast
4) Fruit out of the ordinary. Base beer almost never done in "imperial" or "double" strengths
5) Fruit is tropical. The base beer might require β-glucan and protein rests.
6) NEW HINT: Base beer gets its name from one of the ingredients. Fruit is "spirited" or "vehement."

BAM! Finally :D

Based on Wailua Wheat from Kona.

Damn, I didn't think that was going to take so long. Were my clues really that crappy and not subsequently more revealing?

yes. next time tell us exactly what adjunct it is and then list the recipe. :cross:

The sweetness of this one tends to have a negative correlation with the ABV.

Next hint:

Just like beer, it uses something for bittering

Everyone can guess again.
