hey guys, i'm trying to hookup my herms setup and not sure about a couple of things. i have a pid control i got from ebay. my question is do i need a SSR and what type and where can i find one. the second part of my question is how do you wire everything up. thanks for your help,

eric

Sounds like you have some searching and reading to do.

The PID will have a rating but it's unlikely to be high enough to control an heating element so you'll need an SSR

Make sure it's input is within the range of the V output on the PID and the V and A rating matches the range of the heating element you are using.
PID and the SSR will be labelled.

Assuming you're using it to control a heating element you need to connect it up like this...
