hello everyone,
i recently brewed a irish stout on sat. and i think there may be a problem with the fermentation. i made a yeast starter for it and tossed it in. it bubbled quite heartily untill today when i noticed that the plastic thing in the airlock had sunk. i checked the gravity and it was at 1.022-1.024 the final should be between 1.017 and 1.020. i also steeped about a half lb. of flaked barley could this be the difference in gravity or do i have a real problem??

thanks.

4 to 5 points out isn't a lot, I wouldn't worry about it. Is the temperature stable.
You could always give it a little shake to wake the beasties.
