I got a shipment from capella flavorings after seeing their ad here. Its absolutely amazing how a couple drops gives a taste explosion... i think their cherry cola has a better and fresher taste than the coke or pepsi equivilent for instance. I wonder if there are other such vendors for super concentrated flavorings.

A slight caveat is that my tests werent exact because i had to sweeten with another flavor syrup, having nothing neutral on hand. Capella charges little to ship their tiny thumb size bottles, but the big ones incur a huge rate for here, so wondered if there are other such companies.

I just tried the less concentrated Bakto flavorings available from amazon. It is pure fruit essance in alcohol, and cheaper than above but probably more per dose.

With just carb water plus corn syrup plus bakto cherry, it made a pretty competant but plain jane soda. I should have added lemon or lime for bite and complexity.

Bottom line so far, bakto seems to make a better soda if you are targetting a particular flavor. But more enjoyable to me is a combo taste of mostly frozen lemon juice concentrate with a twist of capella flavor drops.

I use RIO flavorings and Lorann oils (mostly RIO).. very good. Using there concentrates rather than syrup is best... cheaper (a lot) and you can add your own sugar to taste..
