i am in the process on converting my chest frezzer into a kegerator and i have been buying the equipemnt off a few different sites but my question is about the type of shank i need. Is the bigger the nipple on shank the better flow? or is it the smaller the nipplie the better flow. I keep getting different answers and I just wanted to see what you guys think. One guy told me if I went with 1/4 i would need 10 feet of hose to get rid of the foam.

Not really true in my opinion. I don't think shanks make a big difference. I like to stick with the same size shank as the ID of my tubing, though. Just in case... I went with 3/16 for most of mine, but I do have a 1/4 shank with 3/16 tubing on it. I haven't noticed a difference between the two.
