Seeing as how you have brewed a batch so far, I would assume you have researched some of the basics. Way to go.
I would highly recommend you make one change to your profile though and that would be to post your location. Why? Because chances are someone on this forum lives in your area and can give you more specific information on local homebrew shops, clubs, etc...
