so I have a beer that is definitely infected, very sour and very hazy. It's not so terrible that it's impossible to drink. My question is is it unsafe to drink?

No, it's perfectly safe. There aren't any pathogens in there that can make you sick. It's probably a lacto infection if it's sour and not vinegar-y.

I envy people who like sour beers. That's a nice bit of buffer to have in the process. I can never enjoy an infection.
