I collect about 6.75 gallons of runnings in the kettle and lately I am only getting about 4-4.5 gallons after the boil into my carboy. Does this seem high? Maybe I have the burner turned up too hot?

Yeah...if it's a 60 minute boil, that's about 33% boiloff. Have you been using more hops lately and getting some loss to trub?

Try adjusting your boil rate and see what that does for you. I have mine set to a nice rolling boil, but I've seen some that boil it and wort is jumping out of the kettle.

Yeah, usually my boil is jumping pretty good lol. I figured that would get better hop utilization. Ill turn it down a bit. Also, I have been using more whole leaf hops lately so I'm sure I lose a little bit more to those.
