I'm brewing a recipe I got at a local store for the second time. I was going to try ingredients from midwest supplies, but they dont have crystal malt. Is there an alternative for 40L and 60L crystal malt? I'm brewing a Honey Oatmeal Cream Stout. any help would be great.

ah ha! I found them. Thanks for making me look harder.

I'm glad you found them. I've used different ones in the past, and I've noticed a slight difference in the UK and US versions. So I tend to try to use US crystal malts with US style beers, and UK caramel/crystal malts with English style beers. I have used some of the German crystal malts in the past, but not enough to say if there are any major flavor differences.
