All Grain in houston

I live in Houston and want to learn the All Grain skills I have read some books but I am a very visual learner. Defalcos has a brew day like once a month and I always seem to miss it due to my work schedule 10on 4off. I live in southeast Houston I-45S & BW8 and want to hook up with someone to learn. I could buy or something let me know is anyone is willing to help me out.

I'm probably not the guy to teach you since I've only done two so far, but you're welcome to come and watch...I was planning on a couple of batches over the next 10 days. PM me and we'll get together...I'm in Kingwood.

I'm in Tomball and that is the link that got me started back in Oct of last year, I have three mash tuns of verious sizes. Take some good advice if you are going to make this mash tun go buy the square 60qt cooler at Walmart on wheels $20. It takes a little more then just the regular single peice of copper and the screen, but man we have made every kind of beer including doubles and the thing will hold like 40lbs of grain.

Defalcos offers classes that are a lot of fun - I took one with a friend to get myself a brewing buddy, and it was well worth it. Mondays from 7 to 10ish. As I recall, we were told that the owner of st. Arnold's took the class some years back. I could be misremembering though - there's some brewing going on during class, but there's also a lot of sampling.

Also note that they're in a new location (with a lot more room) a few blocks closer to 610. In fact, this Saturday the 21st is their grand reopening bash. Lots of beer and wine and hand, big sale and there will be brewing going on as well.

Wow. Didn't realize there were so many Houston peeps on here. I'm out in Katy. About to try my first all grain brew in a week or two. Thanks for the tip on Defalco's. I'll have to swing by one of their brew days. Anyone know when the next one is?
