Hello,

I have read about people scrubing bottles with oxi-clean, bleach, b-brite, etc.
But I was wondering if you can just clean them in a dishwasher. I have not seen any posts about this. Does the soap leave a smell? Will the bottles not get clean enough? I thought it might be easier and then sanitize them.

Thanks,
bryan

They'd get plenty clean on the outside, but it's unlikely that the dishwasher would get them clean on the inside since there's just a little opening in the bottle.

All modern day dishwasher soaps have agents in them to remove spots. This will also screw up your head on the beer. Also Its very hard to get them well rinsed in a dishwasher. I run a rinse on them but never use soap. If your dishwasher has a sanitize cycle then you can use that with a clean bottle before bottling but don't use it to clean the bottle.
