Have a yeast starter going in a 1 liter beaker, following the instructions I have ... But I am unclear as to whether I should agitate it prior to pitching or should I leave the sediment behind and only pitch the liquids....

Not sure if my answer is the correct one, but I just used a starter for the first time. I agitated the sediment before pitching and I have never had a faster, more active fermentation (although I have only brewed 5 batches previously). I will watch this posting to see if I made the right or wrong decision to agitate.

Good luck

I have had to wait an additional day to pitch the starter. It was bubbling furiously yesterday but not so much today. Should it still be okay to use today? or should I re-feed them and wait another 24 hours before brewing & pitching...?
