Been almost a month...

I've thought of trying this. How'd it turn out?
It's a very drinkable stout, but I was hoping for more prominent banana notes. I used wyeast 3068, pitched with no starter, and fermented at 74F (with some dips). I could smell major banana when it was fermenting, but not as much in the final product. Still very pleased with how it came out overall.

3 Gallon batch

Grain bill:

3.5 lbs Pils. (46.7 %)
3.5 lbs Vienna. (46.7%)
0.5 lbs Aromatic (6.7%)

Hop Schedule:

1 oz Cascade (6.9% aa) @ FWH
1 oz Centennial (8.9% aa) @ 5 min
2 oz Cascade (6.9% aa) @ Flameout
1 oz Centennial (8.9% aa) @ Flameout
1 oz Centennial (8.9% aa) Dry Hop ~ 7 days (added after vigorous fermentation ended)

Yeast:
1 smack pack Wyeast 3711 French Saison

OG: 1.058
FG: 1.002

7.3% ABV

Used distilled water for strike & sparge

Added 3 grams Calcium Chloride and 3 grams Gypsum to the mash @ 1.3 Qt/lb

Forced carbonated ~ 2.8 volumes CO2

How long was your primary on that? I'm seriously considering brewing that, but with lots of banana flavor and some minute oats for extra body.
 
20171010_201453.jpgfirst brew in two years cascade pale ale, homegrown cascade hops. used nugget pellet for bittering. two days on co2 and cant stop drinking it. Oh and the malt is going on 2 years old, kept in sealed containers. I didnt have much hope but one of the better ones.

and its the magic glass that doesnt pour out sideways
