Help with Water Report....

Hello I just moved to a new town and haven't brewed yet and tried to look at the water report, but I don't think I have everything I need on the one listed. Just looking for someone to take a quick peak at it and let me know.

That really doesn't tell you much about how the water is for brewing (besides the fact that you won't be making arsenic laced beer...) You need to either get more detailed info from the town water facility or send your water in to be tested to http://www.wardlab.com/
(which is what I did)

You are looking for
Calcium
Magnesium
Bicarbonate
Sulfate
Chloride
Sodium

Then you can use some of the easy online tools to adjust it for style, such as the spreadsheet at the bottom of this page http://www.howtobrew.com/section3/chapter15-3.html

Or the EZ water adjustment sheet found in the posts on this site.

It's the w-6 test and it's $16.50

According to that sheet you get your water from the City of Chicago (like I do). You can check out the Chicago water chemical analysis here...

When I asked my local water department about a chemical analysis they actually gave me this sheet.

I would assume it'd be the same for you.

I think you are right MrSalty, I called the village yesterday and he said they get the water from Chicago and he is going to mail me a copy of the Chicago report and it sounded like it had everything I needed on it. Now I just have to play with the calculators.
