so i am new to the whole homebrew and i knew this batch wasnt going to be my best anyhow i force carbonated my beer and now its to carbonated. any way to properly take the carbonation down a lil bit? i am just letting the pressure bleed out the top of the keg for now.

Turn gas off.
Bleed pressure.
Install tap that goes to faucet to "in" (gas) side of keg.
Shake keg to release co2 out of solution.
Relieve pressure through faucet, will likely be foamy.
Test and repeat as necessary.

*This is theoretical

That will do it, just open the relief valve and the gas will escape. Personally, I vent the keg, then seal it again, give it a mild shake and serve beer that way until a mild shake doesn't create enough pressure to serve it anymore, then put the gas line back on.
