This is my Pumpkin Pie Spiced ale on day 3 of fermentation

Safale 05 dry yeast, rehydrated, no starter. Basement temp 68F, water temp 66F, wrapped in a tee shirt. I have never seen anything like this before!

Nice picture! It made me think of a stupid question that I've been meaning to ask ...

I have yet to see a picture of a blowoff tube with anything else used to make an airtight fit. Is the 1" tube just snug enough on its own? Or is there some trick of the trade that I'm missing out on?
