Belma American Wheat

From all i've seen about Belma, they sound like its either pretty mellow or an intense strawberry & melon. Also seems like the consensus is they are a bit underwhelming on their own so I'm thinking some Nelson Sauvin should liven it up. If the berry/melon notes come out, figure honey malt would meld well. American wheat sounded like a perfect platform to test it out to me. Let me know if you have any suggestions/concerns.

If i get the intense strawberry notes, I'm considering adding some vanilla & lactose when I keg for a strawberries & cream touch. could be interesting, could be terrible.

How did this go?
I performed a dry hop test in simple lager styled beers. Belma was pretty much by far the worst one. Too much strawberrys in milk and melon notes from it.
Been thinking of using them for bittering and at 15 min though for a summer kölsch or wit.

it came out OK, light hops, light malt, a lil more bitter than intended. i didn't get much strawberry or melon notes, the belma was pretty mild to me, but it's partially this culture of conan yeast is taking away from the hops. my keezer is full with better stuff, so once I get some space I'll probably dump some more belma in, but i'll likely just be using it as a bittering hop outside of this.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I think a lot of people are drawing.
If you end up dropping more Belma into it later please report back, I still want to believe that Belma should work for a summer beer.
