I just finished an AG Pumpkin Ale and next week I plan on bottling. When I checked the gravity I took a little sample for myself and it felt it just needed a bit more pumpkin pie in a glass smell. Would it be alright to add some more pumpkin pie spices to the sugar before bottle priming? It's a 5gal batch so I was thinking something small like 1/2tsp for the whole batch. Will this work or just completely ruin the beer and turn it into a dog perfume?

That would work perfectly. Its actually good to go a little low on the spice at first, and add more at bottling if you feel it needs it. I'd boil the sugar as normal, then throw in the spices once you take it off of the boil. That will sanitize it, and open up some of the aromas without boiling them off.
