I am giving home brewing a first shot. I have a scottish ale that has been in the primary for nearly three weeks and is still as murky as muddy water. I am gonna rack to a secondary today to see if that will help clear it up, but if it doesn't what do I need to do? I have a pack of gelatin at hand, what do I need to do to the gelatin so that I can use it?

Well, more time will get you more clarity, and you can also cold crash it before bottling/kegging. Never needed to use gelatin, so I can't give you any help there :)
