my og actually came in higher than expected. around 1.071,a full ten point greater than the projected... can anyone explain this for me.. the pre boil og was actually 1.061 which was the target for the whole batch.. i mashed at 150-153 for about 75 mins and sparged with 1 qt for every 2 lbs ...so 4.2 lbs , roughly a bit over 2 quarts

possibly the "default" ppg of 32 on the LME. Probably correct but seems low for lme "default" (36-37 more common) and at 4 pounds a few points would add up quickly.
